My ratings
I stayed in the Marquee Guest Houzz, Kuala Lumpur in June 2017. Based on my experience I rate this hotel 4.5 out of 5
Why did I book this hostel
While googling for a place to stay in Kuala Lumpur, I stumbled upon Marquee Guest house. I wanted to stay in a central location of Kuala Lumpur. So that I can easily access the main tourist destinations without wasting much time in transportation. At the same time, I did not have a big budget for my stay. So I zeroed in on Marquee guest house. This hostel is located on Petaling street and adjacent to the central market. Many other worth-visiting places are within walking distance. Pasar Seni, one of the local transport hub is also 250 metres away from this hostel.
My experience
I stayed in the first room located at the first level of Marquee guest house (hostel). It is a 6-Bed Mixed Dormitory Airconditioned Room. The toilets and bathrooms are not attached. Room and bed linen was neat and clean. There was a locker inside the room. Get a padlock to lock your personal belongings. Though you can also get it at the reception like I did. Toilet paper rolls were exhausted in the morning.
The staff at the reception is friendly. I met Kazi, a Bangladeshi staff whose tips came handy to plan my Kualalumpur city trip. Breakfast is complimentary. But don’t expect a lavish one. In the kitchen, you can get free bread, hot & cold water, coffee & tea powder, creamer, a microwave oven, dishes (wash them after use). This is also a common area where you can have breakfast chitchatting with fellow backpackers.
I paid 24 Ringgit or 384 Indian Rupees for one day in this hostel.
