Spread the love

Alberobello, a World Heritage Site by UNESCO is popular for its traditional houses with conical roofs called Trulli. I visited Alberobello during my week-long trip to Italy in November 2019 and found this place was not as crowded as other tourist places in Italy are. So if you are looking for a less touristic place in Italy or Europe, Alberobello can be a good option.

Stay in a Trullo house

The best way to experience Alberobello is by staying in the house for which it is actually famous for. I booked a Trullo guesthouse for 40 Euro per night. Click this link for online booking of the guesthouse where I stayed in Alberobello. (Every successful booking through this link will fetch me a small commission)

How to reach Alberobello from Rome

I booked Flixbus from Rome to Alberobello for 23 Euro (1,800 INR). Distance from Rome to Alberobello is around 481 km via Bari and It took around 8 hours to cover the distance. The bus starts from Tiburtina bus terminal, Rome. Watch this video  for more information

There’s something about arriving in new cities & wandering empty streets. The empty streets and unusually beautiful Trullo houses of Alberobello are just wonderful. If you are visiting Italy, Alberobello is a must visit if you love to explore offbeat places. From Rome, it takes 8 hours by road and an hour by flight to reach Bari (nearest airport to Alberobello).
