Documents needed for Schengen Visa

Here is the list of documents needed for Schengen Visa. For reference, I am mentioning the documents needed at the Netherlands Embassy/Consulate, but more or less every country which accepts Schengen visa has the same requirements. Also, I have shared the downloadable copies of different application forms needed for Schengen visa.

1. Valid passport
   # Must be valid for at least 6 months
   # Passport must also have at least 2 blank pages to affix the visa
   # Passport should be submitted with all the old passport booklets
2.  Visa application form, duly filled and signed at two places(column #37 and in last) by the passenger
3.  Consent form
4. Authorization form
5. Travel History form
6. Two photographs
   # Size 3.5mm x 4.5mm
   # Matt finish
   # 80% face coverage and white background
7. Personal Covering Letter addressed to The Visa Officer, Embassy of Netherlands, New Delhi
   # mentioning duration of visit
   # purpose of visit
   # expenses clause
   # Details of all Applicants with name, passport number on plain paper
8. NOC from Employer, if employed
9. Travel Insurance
10. Return Confirmed ticket or Itinerary covering all the sectors
11. Confirmed hotel bookings (with hotel Name, Address, Telephone no and email Id)
12. Original updated bank statement for last 6 months with bank seal and signature from the authorized person from the Bank
13. Income Tax Return for Last 3 years
14. Salary slip last 6 months
